Overview

PolyEtherEther-Ketone is a high performance engineering thermoplastic that uses its abbreviation, PEEK, to identify it. For hostile environments, PEEK is a high strength alternative to fluoropolymers. It carries a V-0 flammability rating and exhibits very low smoke and toxic gas emission when exposed to flame. And unfilled PEEK is approved by the FDA for food contact applications (since 1998).

PEEK is excellent in toughness, along with abrasion, chemical, radiation and water resistant. It’s exceptional properties, qualifies it to be utilized in the medical, aero-space and electronic industries, just to name a few.

Heat & Chemical Resistance

It can withstand a continuous temperature of 480 °F and in hot water and steam it will not loose any physical properties. It has great chemical resistance.

Mechanical properties

This plastic exhibits excellent mechanical and thermal properties, chemical inertness, creep resistance at high temperatures, low flammability, hydrolysis resistance, and radiation resistance

Flammability

PEEK is rated V-O
