Great for both the paper industry and the food industry. In the paper industry, pulping and finishing operations require good wear resistance and low friction properties in both wet and dry applications. In the food industry, UHMW is the ideal material, because of it’s resistance to abrasion and chemical attacks The industrial grade material UHMW, is a perfect material for these applications.
It is FDA and USDA accepted. It combats against stains and odors. In the food and beverage industry these qualities are perfect for the processing equipment and handling components. It is available in sheets, rods or tubes.
Here at Royal Custom Plastics we do precise machining with UHMW. Some of the precise parts that Royal has made for these industries are: bearings, bearing shields, seals, chutes, cutting boards, guide plates, rollers, rails, flanges, paddles, bushings, cam rollers, guides, star wheels and gears. Of course, these are just a handful of parts that we have machined or fabricated for the food industry. In the food industry, UHMW is the ideal material, because of it’s resistance to abrasion and chemical attacks.
Heat & Chemical Resistance
With a melting point of 267 °F and a maximum working temperature of 200 °F, UHMW is an excellent choice for such parts as: chain guides, bumper blocks, conveyor tracks, doctor blades, guillotine blocks, scapers, pulp paddles, guide rollers and many more applications.
Light weight (1/8 the weight of mild steel), high in tensile strength, and as simple to machine as wood, UHMW PE is the ideal material for many wear parts in machinery and equipment as well as a superb lining in material handling systems and storage containers.
UHMW is rated HB
